Black Girl Sunscreen

Created for people of color by some women of color, Black Girl Sunscreen dries completely clear (no white cast here). The cream formula is moisturizing, cruelty free, vegan, natural and reef safe. I love wearing this sunscreen when I’m not wearing makeup. I apply it after my moisturizer as the last step in my skincare routine, but it could be used in place of a separate moisturizer. Black Girl Sunscreen offers a couple of different formulas, but I use the SPF 30 version.

Farmacy Green Defense Daily Mineral Sunscreen

An unsung hero in the best face sunscreens without white cast roundup. This was the first sunscreen I found that didn’t leave a white cast on my skin. The formula is lightweight cream and absorbs quickly. I’ve worn it both alone and under my makeup, and love it both ways. Farmacy’s sunscreen is reef safe, silicone and fragrance free, vegan, and cruelty free. Protection wise it offers broad-spectrum SPF 30.

Available at Sephora and

Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen

For the days I wear makeup, Supergoop’s Unseen Sunscreen is another one of my favorites. The gel formula is amazing and works like a primer. Out of all the sunscreens, this one provides the highest SPF, 40 PA+++. The formula is cruelty free and reef safe. It also helps protect skin from the light off of computers and phones, with its unique blend of ingredients.
