Skincare Review: Summer Fridays Summer Skin Nourishing Body Lotion

2082 Views

I LOVE Summer Fridays! When they started a few years ago, I snatched up a Jet Lag Mask as soon as I could, and it’s still one of my favorite face masks. Since launching in 2017, they’ve slowly released a range of products including a gel moisturizer, lip balm, and more. However, today, I wanted to share my thoughts on their latest product drop, the Summer Skin Nourishing Body Lotion.

SUMMER FRIDAYS SUMMER SKIN NOURISHING BODY LOTION

Summer Fridays describes Summer Skin as, “A non-greasy formula body lotion, packed with plant-derived butter and oils that instantly melts into the skin providing all-day hydration and a lasting baby-soft feel.” It’s vegan, cruelty free, paraben free, petrolatum free, and uses no synthetic dies.

I’ve had this lotion for about a week, and let me tell you I’m a big fan. It has the most amazing scent which is a blend of coconut, almond, and vanilla blossom. It’s subtle, but there enough for you to enjoy as you apply, and then it fades away. However, if you smell your skin closely you’ll still get a hint of vanilla hours on.

When Marianna, one of the co-founders of Summer Fridays, talked about Summer Skin she said they formulated it to quickly absorb into the skin so that you can apply it, and then get dressed without your clothes sticking to you. I do my hair and makeup before getting dressed so I can’t attest to whether or not your clothes will stick to you, BUT I can say that this body lotion does absorb quickly. You can feel it hydrating the skin but not in a greasy, sticky kinda way. It goes on, sinks in, and then leaves your skin feeling nice and soft.

The key is to apply this lotion right after showering, while your skin is still slightly damp. I’ve tried using Summer Skin on completely dry skin, and while it does still work well, you’ll get the most out of this lotion putting it on after hopping out the tub.

FINAL THOUGHTS

Overall, I really like the Summer Fridays’ Summer Skin Nourishing Body Lotion. I have dry skin and live in Arizona where the air is super dry, and this body lotion was able to keep my skin feeling good all day. The lotion does retail for $26, but I think you get what you pay for, and for me, the $26 price tag is worth it. Plus, it’s supporting a small business and one of my OG favorite creators, Marianna. You can pick up a bottle of Summer Skin at SummerFridays.com, Sephora, or one of their other retailers.
