As I was browsing stands at my local market, I came across M+A Naturals. They mostly sell natural skincare products but also have stuff for the home like all-purpose cleaner and laundry detergent. The company is ran by Marisa and Alicia who wanted to encourage people to live a holistic lifestyle.
After talking with Alicia about some of their products, I decided to purchase the Charcoal Dry Mask. The mask claims to help unclog and reduce the size of pores, remove blackheads and toxins from the skin, and help combat uneven texture. I had recently noticed some blackheads and larger pores on my face, so I thought this sounded like a good fix.
My first time using the mask, I mixed it with water. It comes in a powder form so that users can customize their mask depending on skin type. I have pretty normal skin and water is one of the suggested activators for that. The mask is meant to be on for eight minutes or until drying occurs. My skin became itchy after about five minutes, so I washed it off. Although I didn’t leave it on for the recommended amount of time I could see that it worked to some extent. My face seemed more plump and my skin had a healthy glow to it. The next time around, I decided to mix the mask with milk, and I was able to keep it on for the full eight minutes without any irritation.
At first, I wasn’t sure about mixing my own mask, but I love that I can customize the formula. How often do we buy premixed products and can’t use them because they irritate our skin? I couldn’t even keep this mask on the first time around. But luckily, I was able to change the product and now I have a new staple in my skincare routine.
Overall, I really like how this mask makes my skin look and feel. I notice my pores are smaller and that my skin has a nicer, even texture to it. I would definitely recommend giving it a try if you’re trying to combat these problems, or if you’re just looking to add to your collection.
The mask is only $18, a steal when it comes to skincare, and it can be purchased through their online store or locally in Phoenix. I’ll definitely be picking up some of M+A Naturals other products soon like their rose lip scrub (Alicia’s suggestion) and Hi(m+a)layan face scrub.
Notes about using the M+A Naturals’ Charcoal Dry Mask
- Don’t use metal products while mixing or applying the mask. Use wood, plastic or natural stone bowls and utensils.
- Mask twice a week for optimal results
